I am J. Allan Boutwell, amateur nature photographer. I am a Licensed Physician Assistant, currently providing urgent care medicine to patients living in and visiting the Texas Hill Country area, especially the Boerne and Bandera area.

I have many interests to include nature photography, woodturning, hiking and flying quadcopters
(drones).

One of my passions is nature photography. I received my first camera
(a black-and-white Polaroid Swinger) as a young boy. I enjoyed shooting photos of family and pets, only to realize that the film was too costly. I remember having another camera, a Kodak Instamatic, which is what I used to continue to be the family photographer. I purchased my first film SLR (a Minolta SRT 101) while I was stationed overseas in Tehran, Iran in 1975. it was there and throughout Europe that I began focusing on landscapes and macro photography. I upgraded to a Canon EOS Elan II SLR film camera in the late 1980s of which I still have.

My current photo equipment list includes a Canon EOS T5i SLR digital camera, a Canon T1i SLR digital camera, a Canon 100-400 telephoto zoom lens, a Tamron 150-600 lens, a Canon 100 macro lens, a Canon 17-40 lens, 1.4 extender, tripod, monopod, lightning trigger, remote control shutter release, flash and other miscellaneous bells and whistles. I use Adobe Lightroom CC as my image editing program.

My photo interests are outdoor photography to include landscapes, macro, birds, animals, and flowers. I also enjoy the essence of black and white photography.

I would like to take you on a photographic journey and let you experience some of "The World as I've Seen It". Hope you enjoy the ride!
